10 Things to Do in Wellesley this Summer

We’re thrilled that summer has finally arrived in our vibrant community. With so much to do, both outdoors and indoors, we’re all looking forward to enjoying long summer days and keeping our calendars full with new activities and events. This summer we want to take time to highlight fun things to do around our neighboring community of Wellesley.

From concerts to book signings, sidewalk sales to art exhibits, we don’t expect many dull moments in the coming months.

Summer Film Series 2019: Back to the Future

July 11 – Aug. 8 at 7 p.m. | Event Details

Enjoy the warm summer nights at the Davis Museum’s fourth annual Summer Film Series. In preparation for the fall major exhibition, Fatimah Tuggar: Home’s Horizons, this year’s theme explores futuristic technology.

Art activities and museum tours begin at 7 p.m., movies begin at dusk. Free admission and parking. Complimentary snacks and refreshments will be available. Bring your own folding chairs and blankets. Rain will move the screenings indoors.

Powisset Farm Friday Farm Dinner

July 12 – Sept. 20 at 6 p.m. | Event Details

Savor the ultimate farm-to-table experience at Powisset Farm’s Friday Farm Dinners in Dover. Gather friends and family for a delicious dinner created with Powisset Farm-fresh ingredients. Your reservation includes your multi-course meal and drinks, complete with live entertainment and spectacular views of the farm. Pre-registration is required, and dinners tend to sell out early.

A Mridangam Recital by Inesh Vytheswaran

July 13 at 3 p.m. | Event Details

The Mridangam is one of the oldest Indian percussion instruments, with origins dating back at least 2,000 years. At this performance, Inesh will hold a short concert for the first half of the event. The second half will showcase how this instrument has been adapted to world music. Light refreshments will be served during the break with dinner served after the concert.

Free Fun Friday

July 26 | Event Details

Get free admission to The Gardens at Elm Bank all day long on Friday, July 26. The Massachusetts Horticultural Society will also offer garden tours and children’s games throughout the day. This is a great event to bring family and friends together to enjoy the beautiful weather and scenic gardens.

Sangria & Tapas Tasting

July 30 at Noon | More Events at One Wingate Way

Take an epicurean journey to Spain, through an afternoon of tapas and homemade sangria. Join us in our elegant dining room at One Wingate Way to enjoy these Spanish small plates and traditional wine-based cocktails. Learn about these classic dishes and get inspired by easy recipes for your own next dinner party!

Arts on the Green

Aug. 15 from 5 – 7:30 p.m. | Event Details

Wander the gardens, enjoy live music, and stroll through our art walk. Support local artists showcasing and selling their work throughout our grounds. Enjoy family art activities and garden tours too. Bring a picnic, chairs, or blanket to enjoy the evening in the gardens. Food, wine, beer, and other beverages will be for sale.
